Day 1: Yangon, Myanmar
Arrive in Yangon. Visit the famous Shwedagon Golden Pagoda, which was originally built to house eight sacred hairs of the Buddha. Visit the immense reclining Chauk Htat Gyi Buddha statue, stretching over 216 feet in length.

Day 2: Yangon
Enjoy a full-day tour of Yangon including Botahtaung Pagoda, the city’s bustling downtown, and the National Museum. Visit the Kalaywa Tawyakyaung Buddhist Monastery, which provides education and shelter to hundreds of children.

Day 3: Yangon / Mandalay
Fly to Mandalay, the artistic center of Myanmar. Visit the Mahamuni Buddha Image and explore the city’s famous handicraft workshops, including marble carving, bronze casting, wood carving, silk weaving, tapestry making, and waxed paper making. Visit Shwenandaw Monastery, travel to Kuthodaw Pagoda, and climb Mandalay Hill.

Day 4: Mandalay / Ayeyarwaddy River Cruise
Watch the sunrise from the U Bein Bridge in Amarapura, a former capital city. Meet with monks at Mahagandayon Monastic University. Embark on a two-night Ayeyarwaddy River cruise. Visit the Mingun Pagoda Complex to see the late 18th century massive Pahtodawgyi Pagoda. Watch a traditional dance performance by the Mandalay Arts School.

Day 5: Ayeyarwaddy River Cruise
Travel downstream to Sagaing. Visit Sunoo Ponya Shin Pagoda, observe daily life at a local convent, and visit a local village.

Day 6: Ayeyarwaddy River Cruise / Bagan
Disembark in Bagan. Explore unique 11th to 13th century archaeological wonders scattered throughout the Bagan valley. Tour the early 12th century temple of Gubyaukgyi Myinkaba, which offers frescoes of 550 Jatakas, and visit Minanthu village to explore its 13th century temples. Enjoy a traditional puppet show with dinner.

Day 7: Bagan
Take a balloon ride over Bagan at sunrise to view the beautiful landscape from above. Visit Nyaung Oo, a colorful local market. Continue to Shwezigon Stupa, Kyansittha Umin Cave, and the Gubyauk Gyi Temple. Visit Htilominlo Temple and Thatbyinnyu Temple, the highest temple in Bagan. Ride in a horse-drawn cart to Shwesandaw Stupa to watch the sun set over Bagan’s temples.

Day 8: Bagan / Heho / Inle Lake
Day 8: Bagan / Heho / Inle Lake Fly to Heho and drive to Inle Lake, visiting Shweyanpyay Monastery and Nyaung Shwe village along the way. Journey by long-tail boat to the floating village of the Intha people, and enjoy a guided walk in the Mine Thauk village.

Day 9: Inle Lake
Spend the day exploring Inle Lake by long-tail boat to see beautiful landscapes, monasteries on stilts, and the floating gardens of the Intha people. Visit the magnificent monastery of Kwunwoo Village and have tea with the chief monk. Stop at a silk weaving workshop.

Day 10: Inle Lake / Yangon
Fly to Yangon. Visit the Tharyargone School and witness the difference this school has made in the lives of local children. Visit Bogyoke Aung San (“Scott’s”) Market, where everything from traditional Myanmar snack foods to precious Mogok rubies is sold.

Day 11: Yangon / Depart for Home
Say farewell to Myanmar and depart for home.
