Day 1: Panama City, Panama
Arrive in Panama City.

Day 2: Panama City
Visit Panama La Vieja, the original location of Panama City, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Learn about the Panama Canal with a visit to the Miraflores Locks.

Day 3: Panama City / San Blas Islands
Fly to the San Blas Islands, home of the Kuna people. Learn about the Kuna and their indigenous culture, including the colorful mola panels worn by the local women.

Day 4: San Blas Islands
Set out into the tropical forest and visit a local waterfall. Spend the afternoon at leisure or dip into the Caribbean for some crystal-clear snorkeling.

Day 5: San Blas Islands
Snorkel in the turquoise waters that surround white-sand islands dotted with palm trees and the thatched-roof dwellings of Kuna villages.

Day 6: San Blas Islands / Panama City / Managua, Nicaragua / Granada
Fly to Managua, Nicaragua and transfer to the colonial town of Granada.

Day 7: Granada
Enjoy a Granada city tour. Take a motorized boat ride through Lake Nicaragua’s isletas, idyllic small islands rich in flora and fauna. Visit Catarina Lookout and visit the pottery-making village of San Juan del Oriente.

Day 8: Granada / San Juan del Sur
Head to Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve, home to a dormant volcano engulfed by a dense cloud forest. Tour a working coffee plantation. Transfer to San Juan del Sur.

Day 9: San Juan del Sur
Spend the day at leisure enjoying a variety of eco-lodge activities.

Day 10: San Juan del Sur
Spend the day at leisure enjoying a variety of eco-lodge activities.

Day 11: San Juan del Sur / Managua
Return to Managua, pausing for a nature walk in the magnificent Montibelli Private Nature Reserve, searching for Nicaragua’s beautiful national bird, the Guardabarranco.

Day 12: Managua / Depart for Home
Depart for home.
