Day 1: Quito, Ecuador
Arrive in Quito.

Day 2: Quito / The Galápagos Islands
Fly to the Galápagos Islands and set out on an excursion to El Chato Reserve, one of the best places in the archipelago to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Board a luxury yacht, which will be home for the next four nights while exploring the Galápagos Islands.

Day 3: The Galápagos Islands
Visit Bahía Ballena and Santiago (James) Island, which is home to marine iguanas, lava lizards, Galápagos penguins, and sally lightfoot crabs. The cove offers excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities with white-tipped reef sharks and tropical fish.

Day 4: The Galápagos Islands
Hike to the summit on Bartolomé Island. Take a panga ride around Pinnacle Rock and Sullivan Bay. Walk along white coral sand beach and lava that flowed here less than 100 years ago.

Day 5: The Galápagos Islands
Stroll along Darwin Bay on Genovesa (Tower) Island. Observe a vast array of bird life, including frigate birds, red footed boobies, finches, and mockingbirds. Enjoy some time at the beach to swim, snorkel, and kayak in this beautiful natural harbor.

Day 6: The Galápagos Islands / Quito
Spend a final morning in the Galápagos before flying to Quito.

Day 7: Quito
Enjoy a full-day, privately guided tour of Quito, Ecuador’s capital and UNESCO World Heritage site founded on the ruins of an Inca city.

Day 8: Quito / Cusco, Peru / Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco, Peru and transfer to the Sacred Valley, a fertile valley lined with picturesque Andean markets, impressive churches, and remarkable Inca ruins.

Day 9: Sacred Valley
Explore the archaeological site of Moray, comprised of impressive agricultural terraces that were used by the Incas as open-air crop laboratories or greenhouses. Next, visit the pre-Columbian salt mines of Maras that are still active today.

Day 10: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu
Take a guided walking tour of the charming town of Ollantaytambo. Board a train to Machu Picchu, perhaps the most famous and awe-inspiring of all the ruins discovered during the 20th century. Take a guided tour of the ruins, learning about the construction and probable usage of the buildings.

Day 11: Machu Picchu / Cusco
Watch the sun rise over Machu Picchu, and return to the ruins to continue exploring with your guide. Take the train back to Ollantaytambo, retracing the route through the Urubamba Valley. Return to Cusco, the southern capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most beautiful towns in Peru.

Day 12: Cusco
Spend the morning on a guided tour of the main sites of Cusco and the surrounding area including Santo Domingo, La Catedral, Plaza de Armas, and Sacsayhuaman.

Day 13: Cusco / Lima / Depart for Home
Spend a relaxing morning in Cusco before transferring to the airport and departing for home.
