Day 1: Cusco, Peru
Arrive in Cusco, the southern capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most beautiful towns in Peru. Spend the afternoon taking a guided tour of the main sites of Cusco and the surrounding area including Santo Domingo, La Catedral, and Plaza de Armas.

Day 2: Cusco / Sacred Valley
Spend the morning exploring the ruins of Sacsayhuaman and Pisaq. Visit Pisaq’s famous market and the home of a local ceramic artist. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a fertile valley lined with picturesque Andean markets, impressive churches, and remarkable Inca ruins.

Day 3: Sacred Valley
Explore the archaeological site of Moray, comprised of impressive agricultural terraces that were used by the Incas as open-air crop laboratories or greenhouses. Next, visit the pre-Columbian salt mines of Maras that are still active today. Visit a local family’s home and tour the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.

Day 4: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu
Enjoy a scenic train ride from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, continue by bus to Machu Picchu, perhaps the most famous and awe-inspiring of all the ruins discovered during the 20th century, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Alternatively choose to hike with a private guide to Machu Picchu.

Day 5: Machu Picchu
Return to Machu Picchu for a guided hike up to Inti Punku or the “Gate of the Sun.” Spend the afternoon at leisure and explore the ruins on your own.

Day 6: Machu Picchu / Cusco
Relax this morning or visit the craft market in Aguas Calientes. Board an afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

Day 7: Cusco / Puno
Fly to Juliaca and transfer to Puno.

Day 8: Puno / Lake Titicaca
Continue to Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Visit the unique Uros Floating Islands and the community of weavers on Taquile Island.

Day 9: Lake Titicaca
Choose from a variety of activities including guided nature walks, bird-watching, canoeing or boating, sunset hiking, and stargazing.

Day 10: Lake Titicaca / Puno / Depart for Home
Say farewell to Peru, transfer to Puno and depart for home.
